If you are considering getting newborn photos or baby photos you should do your research and find a professional photographer who is experienced with dealing with newborns and newborn photography. If you are looking to get those gorgeous newborn sleepy photos that you see all our the internet nowadays you need to be prepared! These type of professional photos are best done in the first 14 days of birth as babies literally just sleep the whole time during this period. Over the past few years celebrity pregnancy shots have brought attention to the amazing possibilities in maternity photos. Alana Taylor Photography is a professional photographer in Melbourne skilled in capturing that precious and fleeting nine months so that it can be cherished for years to come.




Here are some tips for your maternity photo shoot. First, consider the timing of your photo shoot. Many women prefer to have their maternity photos taken in the mid-third trimester. By the eighth month, most pregnant women have sufficiently prominent bellies to photograph well. However you should also be aware of your fluid retention. If you begin to swell excessively, it is best to have your photo shoot before extreme puffiness sets in. Also, several hours before a photo shoot you should be sure to remove any tight-fitting clothing or apparel fitted with elastic as these may leave marks that are visible in your portraits.




Next, consider different maternity photoshoot ideas to discuss with your maternity photographer. Maternity portrait shoots can be a very personal affair. Therefore photographs are generally taken in my studio, but we can also arrange to take them in your home or at another location. We can also discuss whether you would like to include other family members in your photo shoot or incorporate any props or special items. You will also need to consider what clothing you would like to wear. I will provide you a guide to help choose your clothing. In general, pregnant bellies photograph best when they are not covered by overly loose or frumpy clothing and not obscured by large or ostentatious print. Another tip is to give special care to your hands and finger nails; these will likely be highly visible in your maternity portraits.

A successful photo shoot will take approximately 1-2 hours, so be sure to be on time and well rested. You can expect to see a preview of your photos within 24 hours of the shoot. You will receive your disk of high resolution images within two weeks and will then have the flexibility to print the images through any print service you desire. Fashion Photoshoot - The Broken Bride

I have been wanting to do this editorial fashion shoot for as long as I have been doing photography. I would love to start being a Wedding Photographer in the Melbourne Area but firstly want to make my mark as a Newborn Photographer and Family Photographer first. This shoot however scratched my itch and I loved every part of it! I am so lucky to have fantastic Photography locations in my area and this deserted train tracks is my favorite!

Glamour Pageant Shoot with the Gorgeous Georga

I was approached by this Gorgeous Pageant Model to do a Photoshoot for her upcoming Beauty Pageants. She was after Model Headshots and Natural Glamour Photos and wanted to do some photos for herself. I couldn't be more happier with the way these photos came out. I have never done Pageant Photography before and not even sure there are Pageant Photographers in Melbourne. However I love a challenge and she was so easy to photograph.
